On the 16th of April, Leonie, James, and Iain M went to Inverness leisure centre to a JRSO conference. It was opened by Gino and Nicky from MFR. There were lots of stands and there was a police motor bike which was eco friendly. When everyone got to their seats Gino and Nicky said why they were there for the conference and said what we where doing next and it was a comedian called James Cambell. Then there was a play that was good then it was lunch. Then Gino and Nicky chose people to go on mountain bikes and it was boy vs girls

Pupils from Marybank Primary and Paringa Park Primary in Australia have created a wiki!
‘The Wee Wiki’ is where the children will post messages to each other and share stories and experiences of school life in Scotland and Australia. We also hope to join together for an e-project.
Check out ‘The Wee Wiki’ at http://theweewiki.wikispaces.com/

Water is our new topic. There are three different types: Ice is frozen water, water is liquid out of a tap and steam is boiled water which comes out of a steam train!
In the ocean or sea is salt water and in a river is fresh water. In some oceans there is tropical water which is warm and in some oceans it is cold. I am interested in this topic. What do you think?

On March 12th, Caitlin, Megan, Iain M, James, Christopher, Leonie and Ryan went to Invernes Callie Thistle to play football. We didn’t win any games, but we got a few goals, all scored by James. Then we got autographs from some of the players and the mascot, Nessie. We also got some caps and keyrings in a goodie bag. We had a lot of fun and got to miss a day of school, so it wasn’t so bad if we lost every game.

P5-7 entered a poetry competition before the Easter Holidays with the fantastic prize of the whole class being invited to the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness to see the Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen.
Congratulations to Iain M. whose poem The Magic Cauldron has been chosen as one of the winners.
Read and enjoy.
The Magic Cauldron
I will put in my cauldron
The slither of a fake snake
The coldness of a boiling volcano
The leap of a seven legged frog
I will put in my cauldron
The pain of an arrow striking my heart
The scream of a mermaid
The bite of a Chinese leprechaun
I will put in the cauldron
The stench of the great green greasy Lim-Po-Po River
The greeness of a red piece of paper
The smell of an orange from an apple
My cauldron is fashioned from demon hair and dragon scales
With delicate pixie wings on the lid and
Memories on the legs
The inside is made from the flames of a fire
I shall fight in my cauldron
Against my worst nightmares
I shall win
In the darkest of times
On 13th March the P.7s took part in a rotary quiz with Conon Bridge Primary, Dingwall Primary and Strathpeffer Primary. They started off a little slow but they got the hang of it after a while. They got about 4/10 points in the first couple of rounds and then they started getting better and getting higher scores like 6 and 8 /10 and in one of them they got 9/10. After ten rounds they got 50 point altogether. It was Dingwall that came 1st, Strathpeffer 2nd and Conon Bridge 3rd.
Although we came last the team did pretty well because the other schools had more people to choose from!

The pupils in p4-7 have their own e-Pals from Australia. We have been asking about Australia because we are doing a class project on Australia. In school we’re planning a trip to Australia in pairs (not a real trip) .
For the trip we have been given a budget of money and we are only allowed to spend, the budget we’ve been given is £2,500 . Also we have been doing paintings and collages of rainforests and deserts in Australia.
