Amazing Archaeology!
March 23, 2009 | | 9 Comments
On Wednesday we had Brian Wilkinson an archaeologist come to visit us. He is doing a project in Scotland to find out how people used to live two hundred to three hundred years a go. He showed us all the work he had been doing and told us a bit of the history of Strathconon.
The next morning he took us to a ruin near Luichart Dam up Strathconon. We looked at this ruin and decided where the people would have stayed and where the animals whould have lived. We also had to draw a picture of what we thought it would have looked like when people were living in it. It all had a fantastic day so please leave a comment to say what you thought of it!

It was really warm that day! Shame it got colder.
I thought the morning went fantasticly well! I really enjoyed studingy the ruin and trying to think of what it would have been like to live when the people who owed the the house did! I give the morning a 9/10 because it was really, really fun!!

I like blogging it is fun.
I like blogging because it is fun.
Thank you Marybank seniors for coming out to Soulmarksie farmstead last week. I had a great time meeting you all and was very glad to have the opportunity to show you the site and talk about what life would have been like there long ago. If you want to follow up your research you can find lots of images and information at http://www.scran.ac.uk and see if you can find any more old farms near your school with Canmore, our database – http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/advanced/.
Best wishes and keep in touch!
